Frequently asked questions regarding IPR matters↗️

During the three accelerators we had plenty of questions regarding IPR matters. Below you may find the most frequently asked questions:

• What should and can we do to protect our IP/IPR?
• Why & when do I need to do a Data Protection Impact Assessments?
• Questions regarding NDA’s, License Agreements, Partnership Agreements and the like. F.i: How do we ensure that the NDA safeguards all members of the consortia?
• GDPR related: Is our company GDPR compliant?
• What protection is offered to hardware that is made through the combination of two or more existing patented inventions made by third parties?
• Shall we move forward with our business even though we have not protected our business the way we envision to protect it yet ( f.i waiting for our patent registration)?
• When is a good time to start approaching investors?
• When can we expect the EU to come with definite rules, guidelines and fines regarding what companies should comply with in order to become a sustainable company?
• Can we obtain an English statement for our website through the DigiCirc programme?
• How many translations do we need to publish on our site if we are working Internationally?
• Safety & Security & Compliance regarding the amount of type of data kept within their digital systems. Compliance – “Who can held be responsible for what within their platform or application?” (e.g. when the delivery of our product is not on time but our platform facilitates the bookings part of the logistics, we are not the logistics firm so only cooperating with them, then who is there to blame?)
• Could we gain more advice on private funding possibilities and in which stage and with which minimum required IPR-documentation in place we should we approach them to get a higher chance of succeeding?
• When is a good time to start approaching investors? I am still at the early stage so I don’t want to give up to much of my equity. Also what type of investor shall I approach? So which phase of my lifecycle is a good timing to ask for funding or to involve an investor?
